Published in the Age

Another great moment in my photo career has happened recently with a shot of Uluru that I took last month being published in the Age newspaper.

There is a bit of a story behind this shot and how it got into the paper. It's not something that I believe I want to go into too much but having said that I am still very happy to be published.

The paper had a 12pm deadline for this article for which I had submitted several shots already but on this morning I knew that these shots would be perfect. Luckily the tour was a photo tour so I had time to spare while the punters were off exploring the rock. You see on a regular tour I have almost no time to myself what so ever which isn't anything out of the ordinary. However, having the time to edit and send these shots from the Kata Tjuta Dune Viewing Area, also know to us guides affectionately as the "cattle Grids" was so very useful.

Using a laptop and my iPhone I was able to connect to the web and upload the shots to my website while quite literally being at the very end of the mobile communications world. The shots were all in time, if only by a few minutes to make the deadline of 12pm.

There is something to be said about being ready for anything and have your technology with you at all times.
