Lately I've take to exploring the out of the way places of Alice Springs that I have never looked at as a location for a photograph or let alone making these locations a subject unto themselves.
Looking at these urban landscapes has been a good challenge for me as the majority of my private work has been very much landscape oriented. Applying these ideas of composition and lighting to an environment far from the open wilderness is not half as unfulfilling as I had first imagined. The shapes and textures of our natural environment are not that dissimilar to the basic building blocks of the urban environment.
Over the queens birthday weekend I managed to use my time very effectively to undertake this exploration of space, concept, composition and the relationship between them.
