Rainbow valley is another of those places in Central Australia that could easily be part of a martian landscape. The sandstone cliffs punch straight out of an incredibly flat landscape making it completely out of place and another geological masterpiece to be marvelled.
Something that I wanted to do with this night shot was obviously get the clear Central Australian stars as well as finding a new perspective for the formation. Shooting from close up and from a acute angle to the formation I was able to accent its shape and contours in a new way. From this angle and with the stars it takes on a whole new personality and I'm very happy to have let it find a new voice.
