So its definitely not the biggest and badest lens but it will do what I need it to and after all that's what counts.
The Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye lens is an all manual lens that means that not only the focus in manual but also the aperture selection. So far in the testing phase it is a really nice lens for the money and has reasonable resolution and build qualit. I would never have bought this lens myself but I did receive the lens as part of a job that I'll be working on midyear. I would have waited and saved for the 8-15mm L series canon offering but then again that lens would be far down on the list of acquisitions.
The reason I have this lens in so I can create Himiview images for measuring light passing through a canopy of trees. The camera will basically face the sky be orientated to the north then the image processed by a special program that measures the available light then can create a model of daily light fall on that particular spot. Its to aid in discovering how much light particular plants survive in.
